Family Support Services

The Eden II Programs is committed to providing services beyond the daily educational and vocational programming of the school. Eden II recognizes the importance of home and community supports as well as parent training to address skill acquisitions, generalization and behavioral management.

The Eden II Family Support Services Department focuses on three distinct areas: Family Support, Medicaid Waiver Programs, and Clinical Services.

Family Support Services include crisis respite and Parents as Partners.

Medicaid Waiver Programs include: overnight respite trips, day trips, summer day camp, adult recreation program, Friday night social groups, and after school programs.

Clinical Services include: evaluation program, intensive behavioral support program and crisis intervention.

Eden II Programs also provides two home and community based waiver programs, Community Habilitation and Respite. Community Habilitation is training in the home to address skill acquisition and behavior management. In-Home Respite provides breaks for caregivers and other family members.

Transportation is provided to all Brooklyn residents. Staten Island residents should ask about transportation availability. The hours of operation for the program are 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday thru Friday. Participation can be either full or part-time.

Service Coordination

Service Coordination is a valuable resource in helping families of children with autism access services such as doctors, speech therapist, recreation programs, Social Security, etc.

At the Eden II Programs, Service Coordinators are specifically trained in the needs and services available to individuals with autism. Our Service Coordinators assist families by making referrals, completing applications, and coordinating the multiple services that individuals with autism are eligible to receive.

Crisis Intervention is a program that is designed to provide behavioral and social support to families with a child with developmental disabilities who does not attend Eden II Programs on a regular basis. Families will receive between five to eight weeks of service depending on need. Services will be provided by trained professionals in the fields of psychology, behavior analysis, social work and special education. Services are only available to Staten Island families.

Eden II provides Respite Services to children and adults with autism who are in crisis because of loss of a loved one, or other family needs that would warrant temporary respite services.

HCBS Waiver Services

Residential Habilitation
Eden II offers Residential Habilitation to children and adults with autism. Services are provided in the home and are designed to teach skills and address maladaptive behaviors. The philosophy of Applied Behavior Analysis is utilized by all of our well-trained staff.

Respite
Eden II provides Respite Services to children and adults with autism. Respite provides a break from care-giving for families.

Eden II Programs offers Staten Island Families one week per year of planned overnight respite services for their eligible child in our new IRA which has a two-bed respite facility. One-to-one staffing will provide for a creative, individualized fun filled week for your child. Vacation stays are from Sunday to Sunday. The Respite House is closed December 21, 2008 until January 4, 2009.

There is a $150.00 fee for each week’s stay at The Respite at Collfield to cover recreational and other non-reimbursable items for your child’s respite stay. • Be a Staten Island resident

  • Be currently eligible for Medicaid Waiver Services
