Local Staten Island Restaurants Support Autism Services

Delicious drinks and autism awareness were on the menu for local Staten Island restaurants Blue, Beso and Bayou earlier this year in honor of Autism Awareness Month. “Cocktails for a Cause” featured three signature “blue” drinks in each of the restaurants, with a portion of all sales during the month of April benefitting Eden II. Restaurant owner Julian Gaxholli jumped at the chance to promote awareness in his restaurants, saying “Eden II is an amazing organization committed to serving families on Staten Island as autism rates continue to rise. Eden II Students Get a Holiday Visit from Santa

By Diane C. Lore | lore@siadvance.com STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Children with autism who attend Eden II programs on Staten Island received a special visit from the jolly man in red himself, aka Santa Claus, during a holiday pizza party Monday in the school’s new center in Stapleton. The party, sponsored by the nonprofit “Better Angels of Our Human Nature,” is the first participants have enjoyed had since they moved into the new building at 15 Beach Street in October. The new center is dedicated to former Borough President James Molinaro. The afternoon was filled with wide-eyed wonder as children […]
