I’m writing to you today to share my family’s story and ask for your support for Eden II Programs. Our journey with Eden II began over 27 years ago when my son, AJ, was only 2 years old. I can still remember my wife, Jean, and I receiving the diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and not knowing what our next steps should be to help AJ. We had so many questions…
How would we best support AJ?
What does AJ’s future hold?
What services are available for AJ?
What service providers are in my community?
I’m sure most parents and family members had similar thoughts and questions after the initial diagnosis. All these years later, I can clearly remember talking with a friend soon afterward and asking for advice. That advice was so simple, yet incredibly life-changing:
You need to talk with Joanne Gerenser at Eden II Programs.
I’m still beyond thankful for that advice and that we joined the Eden II family. When I say we joined, I mean it, we ALL joined! AJ attended several Eden II programs throughout the years and still attends the day habilitation program, I serve as the Eden II and Genesis Foundation Chairperson, and my wife volunteered for every fundraising event the organization hosted until her passing, but the super raffle is named in her memory so I feel she continues to remain involved!
That is why I’m asking for your support today.
Eden II has made the most incredible impact on AJ and our family’s lives and every day they also make a difference in the lives of hundreds of other people with autism and their families. Our programs and services could not continue without your support and we greatly appreciate your past contributions! We
hope that you’ll continue helping us enhance our programs by making your annual gift today.
As we reflect this Thanksgiving season, I am reminded of the struggles that we’ve faced as an organization, community, nation, and world during the pandemic. When I think of the struggles though, I quickly remember the famous quote by Fred Rogers, “Look for the helpers, you will always find people who are helping.” Those words remind me of dedicated Eden II staff, the encouragement provided by Eden II families, and the perseverance of all the participants receiving services through Eden II.
Your donation today will ensure our programs continue tomorrow!
By contributing to Eden II Programs, you are providing additional opportunities and helping individuals with autism achieve their full potential. On behalf of AJ and all the other Eden II families, we thank you for supporting our children.
We hope you will consider making a 100% tax-deductible donation this Giving Tuesday/holiday season to help Eden II finish the year strong as we strive to continue supporting people with autism to achieve their full potential. Thank you for your support!
