Dear Friends, We’re excited to share that the New York City Council has awarded Eden II $1,513,000 toward 15 Beach Street! $1 Million of the granted funds is for the initial outfitting of the new autism center/school building. This includes classroom furniture, smart boards in every classroom, all office and conference room furniture… every bit of furnishings to complete the building! Additionally, $513,000 was granted toward the actual renovation of 15 Beach Street and the parking lot. This support is thanks to Councilman Recchia and Councilman James Oddo, as well as Councilman Vincent Ignizio and Councilwoman Debi Rose. Eden II also received funding from Jim Oddo for our SI Soccer Team, funding from Vinny Ignizio for our classrooms at Eltingville Lutheran, funding from Debi Rose for the exterior murals at Beach Street, and funding from the city council for the autism initiative. We are very grateful for the support of our elected officials and of all our donors. We have received nearly 1,000 gifts and pledges from parents, grandparents, staff members, local businesses and the community. We have raised $7,233,359 of the $7.5M goal! That means we still have to raise $266,641 to reach our goal. Being close to the finish line is exciting (96% of the goal accomplished), but there is much left to do. We ask you to think of how you can help us at this time and please reach out with any ideas! Thank you for your ongoing support and have a great summer! |
