Staten Island, NY (June 30, 2016) — At the June meeting of Eden II Programs, the board of directors approved the addition of two new board members, Deepak Alur and Lou Anne Haley.
Deepak Alur is a community member. He graduated from T.A. Pai Management Institute (Manipal, India) with an MBA in Finance and Marketing. He began his career in financial services with Citibank India where he quickly held the position as head of Sales for key markets in western regions of India. With exceptional service delivery and an unwavering fervor, Deepak has received some of the most esteemed industry awards including the President’s Club Award and the Premier Producer Award. While distribution planning is included in one of Deepak’s many proficiencies, his true passion lies in providing clients with financial independence through intricate planning and comprehensive decision making. Catering to top corporate executives and more than 400 individuals worldwide with retirement assets under management, Deepak has obtained steadfast patronage from high profile clientele and has attained an unyielding reputation for superior service. Deepak supports creative disciplines influenced by the arts of India, and contributes to many charities managed by close friends/clientele.
Lou Anne Haley is a parent member. This is her second term on the Eden II Board of Trustees. Her daughter, Kerry, graduated from the school program and is now attending the adult program at the Genesis School on Long Island. Over the years Lou Anne has raised substantial funds for the Long Island Teacher Retention Program and served as Genesis PTO President. During her last term on the Board, Lou Anne was a member of the Finance Committee and Chairman of the Long Island Site Selection Committee. This committee successfully found a new location for the Long Island School, Day Hab, and Outreach Programs in 2014. Presently she is a member of the Eden II Strategic Planning Committee and Chair of the Eden II & Genesis Blazing Trails for Autism Run/Walk. She has also served on the Board for the Autism Speaks Long Island Chapter and volunteers every year for the Annual Autism Speaks Walkathon at Jones Beach.
Additionally, the board elected officers: Ralph Scamardella (Chair), Donald Russo (Vice Chair), Gregg Iliceto, CPA (Treasurer), Bernardo Pace, Ph.D. (Secretary).
Eden II Executive Director, Dr. Joanne Gerenser, thanked former Board Chair Shanx Ravisankar for his service, sharing “I am grateful to Shanx for his unwavering commitment to Eden II as Board Chair over the last four years. He will continue to provide important insight as a parent board member. I look forward to Ralph’s tenure as Board Chair as he will continue to foster innovative ideas that will allow our agency and board to thrive.”
Two board members completed their term, Bob Fitzsimmons and John Lavelle. The agency thanks Bob and John for their commitment and service, and welcomes Deepak and Lou Anne!
