Kevin Brosnick is the Director of Development at Eden II Programs, bringing more than 30 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, fundraising, and community engagement. He returned to Eden II in March 2025, after originally working with the organization more than 35 years ago—as a teacher’s assistant, at the original Bayley Seton site.

Throughout his career, Kevin has held a variety of senior roles across the nonprofit sector, building a reputation for strategic development, relationship-building, and advancing organizational growth. His work has supported programs serving diverse communities and has strengthened partnerships across philanthropic, civic, and business sectors.

Kevin has been recognized for his leadership and service with numerous honors, including the Staten Island Economic Development Corporation’s Top 20 Under 40, the Jewish Community Center’s Star of David Award, and the Good Scout Award from the Greater New York Council, Boy Scouts of America. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Brooklyn College. Deeply committed to community involvement, he currently serves as President of Congregation B’Nai Israel and has served on multiple local boards, contributing his time and expertise to organizations dedicated to civic engagement, faith-based leadership, and community well-being.

John A. Carrescia is the Chief Financial Officer of Eden II Programs, a Staten Island–based nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals with autism. In this role, he oversees finance, budgeting, facilities and key administrative functions, ensuring the organization’s long-term financial sustainability and operational effectiveness.

John brings more than two decades of financial leadership experience in higher education and nonprofit administration. Prior to joining Eden II Programs in April 2025, he spent 22 years at Wagner College, where he advanced through progressively senior roles, ultimately serving as Vice President for Finance & Administration and Chief Financial Officer. His responsibilities included financial reporting, budget management, compliance oversight, technology, facilities, dining services, and the leadership of major financial initiatives such as debt refinancing, audit management, and operational enhancements.

Earlier in his career, John worked as a Senior Accountant at KPMG in Manhattan, gaining a strong foundation in accounting and assurance services. In addition to his administrative leadership, he served as an Adjunct Professor of Accounting and Business at Wagner College for ten years, teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses.

A native Staten Islander, John earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Master of Business Administration in Finance from Wagner College. He remains active in the Staten Island community and supports organizations that promote neurodiversity awareness.

Christine Jascewsky, BA, is Director of Adult Services at Eden II, where she has spent 30 years leading the Adult Day Habilitation Program for adults with autism on Staten Island. A recognized leader in developmental disabilities, she has driven major program development and expansion to meet the needs of a diverse adult population. A recipient of the NPSI Community Service Award, Christine is deeply committed to excellence and is now partnering with agency leadership to develop senior services that support aging individuals in their care.

Joanne Capuano Sgambati, Ph.D., BCBA-D, LBA, serves as the Director of Psychological Services at Eden II’s Genesis Programs on Long Island. With a career spanning nearly 40 years, Dr. Sgambati has dedicated over two decades to Eden II, specializing in the support of children and adults with diverse special needs.

Her professional journey began as a residential Direct Support Professional (DSP) and evolved through roles as a Behavior Specialist and Consultant, culminating in her current leadership as a Licensed Psychologist and Board-Certified Behavior Analyst. Dr. Sgambati possesses extensive expertise in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), special education, diagnostic evaluations, and Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT). A frequent speaker at local, national, and international conferences, she is a steadfast advocate for fostering meaningful, self-directed lives for individuals on the autism spectrum. Beyond her professional credentials, she brings the invaluable perspective of a parent to two young adults on the spectrum.

Shirley Dunn, MPA is the Quality Assurance Director and Compliance Officer at Eden II, with nearly 34 years of experience at Eden II. She began her career at Eden II as a per diem Direct Support Professional before transitioning to the Staten Island adult program where she worked as a Habilitation Specialist and eventually as the director of that program. Shirley has worked as the QA Director since 1998. She has extensive experience and expertise in incident management, risk management, policy writing, quality improvement, and survey development & administration, and she has chaired and/or participated in many internal and external committees during her time working at Eden II.  Shirley is committed to ensuring that our individuals are safe and treated with dignity and respect and that our programs operate in full compliance with applicable laws and regulations.  She holds a Master of Public Administration from Norwich University. 

Erin Archibald is the Director of Long Island Administration and Outreach at Eden II Programs, where she has provided leadership and service since 1997. She holds a Master’s degree from C.W. Post’s CASE (Competencies in Autism for Special Education) Program and is a New York State–licensed Special Education Teacher. Ms. Archibald also holds Certificates in School Administration and Supervision and School District Administration from the College of St. Rose. With expertise in autism and applied behavior analysis, Ms. Archibald presentations bridges research-based practice and clinical application. She provides strategic oversight and supervision across diverse educational and clinical settings, consults with families and school districts throughout Long Island, and plays a key role in the development and expansion of innovative programs that support individuals with autism.

Irene Cavanagh-Husseini, EdD, Associate Executive Director, oversees SI Residential and Family Support Services. With a specialty in OPWDD service provision, she has been with Eden II since 2004. Dr. Cavanagh has four decades of experience in the field of developmental disabilities, both domestically and internationally. Her work includes developing special education services in the Middle East where she remains actively involved in the special education and autism arena.

Dr. Cavanagh also enjoys her role as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at CUNY Brooklyn, where she teaches early childhood special education. Irene serves on several boards and is active in the developmental disabilities community as a past chair of the SIDDC. She received her doctorate in Educational Leadership from Concordia University, a Master’s in Special Education from Long Island University, and a BA in Psychology from St. Joseph's University. Dr. Cavanagh holds a permanent license in Special Education, and certifications in School Building Leader (SBL), and School District Leader (SDL).

Jan M. Downey, MA, CCC-SLP, TSHH is the Director of Long Island Speech-Language Services for Eden II Genesis Programs. She is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in NewYork State for over 25 years and holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCCs) from the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA). She is a certified teacher of individuals with speech and hearing disabilities (TSHH). Jan received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in speech pathology from Long Island University/C.W. Post in Greenvale, New York where she graduated Summa Cum Laude and was a valedictorian nominee. She received various awards, including the “Academic Achievement Award” and the “Distinguished Performance Award” and was inducted into the Adult Honor Society.

Jan has been working for Eden II Programs for nearly 30 years. She provides clinical support and supervision to speech-language pathologists across Eden II Genesis Long Island Programs and is a member of various Eden II agency-wide committees. Jan is also the ASHA CE Administrator for Eden II Programs and serves on ASHA’s continuing education advisory board. She is an active participant in the Eden II Genesis Outreach Program creating and conducting live and virtual presentations in speech language-communication and other topics related to autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and Catatonia in ASD both locally and nationally.

Jan is an adjunct professor in the Communication Sciences Departments at Long Island University/C.W. Post and Adelphi University in Garden City, New York where she is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Speech-Language Pathology. She has published several popular articles for the Autism Spectrum News (ASN), the Association for Science in Autism Treatment (ASAT), the Organization for Autism Research (OAR), along with Eden II and Genesis Newsletters.

Jan is the mother of two adult sons with ASD, one who developed comorbid catatonia. She brings both her personal and professional knowledge, perspective, and experience to her position and responsibilities at Eden II Genesis Programs.

Janet La Mantia, M.S.Ed., is the Director of Family Services and Benefits & Entitlements at Eden II, where she leads NYC Family Support Services and serves as Benefits and Entitlements Specialist for the Staten Island and Long Island residential programs. A 20+ year Eden II veteran, Janet advanced from Teaching Assistant and DSP to Medicaid Service Coordinator and Supervisor, playing a pivotal role in guiding the agency through the statewide transition from MSC to Care Management.

A recognized leader in the developmental disability field, Janet co-chairs the Staten Island Developmental Disability Council’s Care Management Committee and serves on its Executive Board. She also co-chairs the IAC In-Home and Community-Based Supports (IHCBS) Committee. Janet holds a Master’s degree in Education and is dual-certified in General and Special Education in both New York and New Jersey.
