Per Diem: 10-12 hours per month, flexible hours

Description

• Provide formal and informal speech-language assessment of participant.
• Apply data collection and behavior management interventions and reinforcement procedures during therapy sessions in accordance with each particpant's behavior management plan and agency policies.
• Participate in staff training program.

Skills Needed

Master’s degree required. Possess NYS certification as Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD). CFY or Licensed Pathologist accepted. Experience employing assistive technology and/or behavioral principles (ABA).

Pay Rate

$65 per hour

Description

As per New York State Department of Education, teacher assistants provide instructional services to students under general supervision of a certified teacher. Requires working on a 1 to 1 basis with a student or with multiple students at a time.

Skills Needed

High school diploma. Must pass the New York State assessment of teaching assistant skills exam. Strong planning and organizational skills. Knowledge of classroom management. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.

Pay Rate

$18.25 - $22.50 per hour
