Eger Comfort Corner Gift Shop & Comfort Cart

Eden II Programs and Eger Health Care and Rehabilitation Center continue their strong partnership to support individuals with autism on Staten Island. The Comfort Corner is a gift shop located within Eger Nursing Home and operated by Eden II students. Participants are involved in all aspects of running the shop, including stocking inventory, organizing displays, assisting customers, handling transactions, and maintaining the space. This hands-on environment provides valuable real-world retail experience while building communication skills, responsibility, and workplace readiness.

Alongside the Comfort Corner, the Eger Comfort Cart extends the experience by bringing items directly to residents and staff throughout the facility. The cart offers additional opportunities for participants to practice customer service, engage with the community, and apply their skills in a dynamic setting, further supporting Eden II’s mission to promote independence and meaningful community engagement.

Together, the Comfort Corner and Comfort Cart create meaningful pathways for skill development, confidence building, and community connection, empowering participants to take active, valued roles in their workplaces and beyond.
