2. Attendees will describe the reasons very young children of bilingual parents are sometimes misdiagnosed with late language emergence (LLE), developmental language disorder (DLD) or, potentially, autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
3. Attendees will identify the early vocalizations, communicative behaviors, and deficits of some infants and toddlers that may indicate a later diagnosis of ASD.
4. Attendees will compare and contrast early vocalizations, communicative behaviors, and deficits among infants and toddlers at risk for ASD, LLE, or DLD.
5. Attendees will describe research-based early therapeutic interventions for infants and toddlers at risk for ASD.

10 minutes Discussion of very early vocalizations, communicative behaviors, and characteristics in neurotypical infants
10 minutes Discussion of the misdiagnosis of very young children of bilingual parents
30 minutes Presentation of very early vocalizations, communicative behaviors, and characteristics of infants and toddlers at risk for autism spectrum disorder (ASD)
15 minutes Discussion of play, language and communication characteristics in infants and toddlers who later present with late language emergence (LLE) or developmental language disorder (DLD)
25 minutes Compare and contrast play, language-communication characteristics and deficits among infants and toddlers at risk for ASD, LLE or DLD
20 minutes Presentation of research-based teaching methodologies for children with ASD.
