Janet La Mantia is currently the Director of Family Support Services at Eden II Programs. She started her employment with Eden II in early 2005, and has held many different roles throughout the years. She began her career as a Teacher Assistant in the School Program previously housed at Granite Avenue. She had worked in Special Education with her High School Cooperative Education program prior to her employment at Eden II. Janet also worked simultaneously in the Family Services programs as a Direct Support Professional, where she developed her knowledge of OPWDD programs. Janet also spent time working at another pre-school for children with disabilities, while continuing her work as a DSP for Eden II. After completing her Bachelor’s of Science in Human Service in 2011, Janet transitioned into the role of Medicaid Service Coordinator (MSC) at Eden II, a position she became interested in while working in the classroom. In 2016, Janet was promoted to Medicaid Service Coordinator Supervisor where she led the Agency into the transition to Care Management and Care Coordination. Janet remained as the MSC/Care Manager Supervisor until the Agency’s transition in June 2019. After a brief time as a Director of Care Management, Janet returned full time to Eden II in her current role. Janet serves as Co-chair for the Staten Island Developmental Disability Council’s (SIDDC) Care Management Committee, is an active member of the SIDDC’s Executive Board and helps annually with the Family Support Fair. Janet has presented both internally and externally on various topics related to OPWDD services, as well as acted as an MSC Trainer for agencies across Staten Island and Brooklyn. Janet earned her Masters of Science in General/Special Education from Touro College.
