Dr. Mary McDonald, PhD, BCBA-D, LBA is the Associate Executive Director for Long Island Programs at Eden II, where she has spent over 30 years overseeing programs serving individuals with autism spectrum disorder across the lifespan. She holds a Ph.D. in Behavior Analysis from CUNY and is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst–Doctoral level and Licensed Behavior Analyst. She is a Professor at Hofstra University, where she directs degree programs in applied behavior analysis and serves on an AI Task Force. Dr. McDonald published a book on the inclusion of students with ASD and chapters and articles on evidence-based interventions, self-management, social reciprocity, PECS, and creativity in autism. She serves on the editorial boards of Behavior Analysis in Practice, Journal of the American Academy of Special Education, and Special Education: Research, Policy and Practice. She also publishes practitioner focused articles regularly on medium.com. Dr. McDonald has received numerous honors from NYSABA, ABAI, Eden II Programs, Hofstra University, and the New York State Assembly. She serves on several advisory boards and is a frequent national and local presenter on autism, applied behavior analysis, and special education.
