Please join us in congratulating Mike Nebel for receiving the Above and Beyond Award for May. This monthly award is a great way for us to recognize and thank staff, students, volunteers, and the community who go above and beyond for the agency, helping to promote and raise needed funds for the program’s growth.
Mike Nebel, currently the owner of Dannyboy’s Tavern on Staten Island, has shown outstanding support to Eden II over the past three years. Mike has let Eden II use Dannyboy’s for various fundraisers, allowing the school to raise money for purchases benefiting the participants in our programs. Some of the money raised through different events has been used to purchase iPod Touches for all of Eden II’s Forest Avenue students. The devices have been a big help in aiding the students in their independence.
Mr. Nebel shares “I am happy to provide opportunities for the agency and feel proud and honored that I can make a difference in the quality of life for students who attend the school. It is a chance for me to give back to my community and actually know that a difference is being made.”
Earlier this month, a Staten Island Advance article highlighted the good work Mr. Nebel has done for Eden II. The full article can be found here.
We are so very fortunate to have Mike Nebel as a part of the Eden II family. As a recipient of the Above and Beyond Award, Mike will be recognized on a permanent plaque on both Staten Island and Long Island.
