Please join us in congratulating and thanking the Lowe’s Home Improvement Heroes Team for being the recipient of the Above & Beyond Award for March. This monthly award is a great way for us to recognize and thank staff, students, and volunteers who go above and beyond for the agency, helping to promote and raise needed funds for the program’s growth.
The Lowe’s team, consisting of Dave Apel, Ben Demonte, Kevin Enderes, Chris DiMaria and Steve Lach, made life easier for our students by building a brand new laundry room donated through their Lowe’s for Heroes program. The laundry room will aid in our school’s mission of teaching students greater independence. The Lowe’s staff painted, built cabinets, purchased an industrial washer and dryer, and a sorter for light and dark clothing. They also created counter tops for folding. They were so happy to be able to help our students have a sense of accomplishment doing their own laundry.
But the guys from Lowe’s didn’t stop there, they created a multi-purpose room at our Forest Avenue site for an arts and crafts center for the students and a teacher’s lounge.
At Eden II we consider Lowe’s our real life heroes for helping us to teach our students the necessary life skills needed for independence making them more than worthy of receiving the Above and Beyond Award.
