It is with sadness that we share the news of the passing of Dr. Juanita Bodden, Eden II’s former Intake Coordinator.

Dr. Bodden (Juanita, to most of us), was a professional and creative presence at Eden II for the ten years she served as our intake coordinator from 2004 through 2014.

As Eden II’s intake coordinator, Juanita was the first person many families searching for services spoke to, and was instrumental in the development and operation of our Collfield respite house and several of our residences. She was a persistent and effective advocate for those in need, and always willing to do what was necessary, especially with families in crisis when few others could really listen and provide guidance and support.

Juanita, who went to Princeton University for her undergraduate degree and obtained her doctorate in Theology and Christian Education from Summit Bible College while an Eden II employee, was a wonderful writer. Many of us had the pleasure of working with her on our old employee newsletter “The Insider”.

Juanita had a tremendous dedication to the families she came in contact with, but was also a wise and patient mentor to many employees, in little ways and in big ways. Our agency is stronger due to her hard work and effort, and she will always be remembered and missed, both for her contributions here, and for who she was as a person.

In memory of Juanita, please join us in making a donation so that we can have a silver puzzle piece in her name added to the donor wall at our new building at 15 Beach Street. Please click here to make a donation.

The puzzle piece will be engraved with: In Memory of Dr. Juanita Bodden

Donations of any amount are welcome. A card recognizing your donation will be mailed to her family, so they will be aware you made a donation in her honor.
