Please join us in congratulating Kara Alicakos for receiving the Above and Beyond Award for July. This monthly award is a great way for us to recognize and thank staff, students, volunteers, and the community who go above and beyond for the agency, helping to promote and raise needed funds for the program’s growth.
Kara began working at The Genesis School in June 2006 as communications specialist. When Kara isn’t in a classroom working with students at The Genesis School she is serving as the chairperson of our “Fun Committee.” She organizes various activities for the staff to help boost morale. Kara has always been involved in all of our fundraisers, providing support to our development coordinator. Kara coordinated April’s “Autism Awareness Month” activities to ensure Genesis’ participation.
Jan Downey, Eden II’s Director of Long Island Programs & Services shared, “Kara is a tremendous asset to Genesis students, parents, and staff… She is well deserving of this recognition!”
As a recipient of the Above and Beyond Award, Kara will be recognized on a permanent plaque on both Staten Island and Long Island.
