This presentation will discuss the importance of self-advocacy from an individual on the spectrum. Trevor is a 7th grade civics teacher/Team Leader at St. Lucie Public Schools and a Doctoral Candidate at Lynn University. He is on the Autism Spectrum and is an advocate for individuals who are on the spectrum. He has overcome many barriers through his own days as a student and has turned his experiences into strategies to enhance his own teaching. He understands what it means to struggle, to be different, to persevere and to overcome. Trevor will discuss the role self-advocacy has played in his life and how it has helped him achieve his goals.
