Description
The Accounting Analyst assists the Manager of Budgets and Reimbursements in day-to-day operational accounting functions, and must be skilled at processing General Ledger transactions, including but not limited to billing and cash application of OPWDD programs. The ability to analyze data for accuracy, completeness and compliance is critical. The incumbent understands and abides by laws and regulations pertaining to OPWDD programs and state grants. The Senior Accountant will also assist program directors and coordinators by providing financial reports for enhancement and optimization of their business and management decisions.
Skills Needed
Associates or bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance preferred. 5 years of accounting experience. Computer literacy in Microsoft Office required, and experienced with General Ledger software, Fund EZ preferred. Strong emphasis in not-for-profit accounting with knowledge in NYS OPWDD, SED and NYCDMH a plus. Must be detailed oriented and demonstrate the ability to meet deadlines. Should be comfortable in a fast-paced working environment and be able to multi-task with good organizational skills. Must be able to interface maturely with executives, program management, external funding sources and auditors.
Pay Rate
$50,000 – $65,000 per year
