The New York City Council adopted the fiscal year 2021 budget, and Eden II is pleased to announce $164,000 in funding from the Staten Island delegation: Joseph Borelli, Steve Matteo and Debi Rose. This year’s funding includes over $100,000 from the City Council’s Autism Awareness Initiative.
The monies will provide support for a number of programs, including recreational activities for adult participants, support for vocational training at Encore! A Thrift Store for Everything Kids, our early childhood program, webinars, trainings and more.
Eden II Executive Director, Dr. Joanne Gerenser, shares, “Our city council members have always been supportive of Eden II, and this year is no exception. We cannot thank them enough, especially now during the COVID-19 pandemic and unprecedented budget cuts. Joe, Steve and Debi have shown that they are true advocates for the autism community, and I’m glad we have people like them at our side.”
